It is indeed not an ordinary day when one gets a chance to share a platform with the Nobel Laureate Mr Kailash Satyarthi. Under the unit on ‘Global Challenges’ under the transdisciplinary theme ‘Sharing the Planet’, students of Grade 4Q, R and S were enriched by the presence of the world-renowned activist as a guest speaker on the forum. Mr Satyarthi made the students aware of the current global challenges and how they are impacting the economic and social composition of the world and children in particular. On being asked, ‘Who can make a difference?’, Mr Satyarthi very candidly replied that each one of them had the ability to be the best human being in the world, if they possess the ability to feel for others and are willing to take action, to end other’s sufferings. He reiterated the importance of developing a sense of global responsibility which aligns very well with our school’s mission and vision statements. He stressed upon how politeness in behaviour and mannerisms are important, no matter which stage of success one has achieved.
